Bear Cubs enter fall season midpoint with packed weekend

Santa Rosa Junior College athletics are in the midseason swing. 

Cross country has its second meet of the season at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at Hartnell College. The men are looking to improve on a fifth place finish at the Lou Vasquez Meet, while the women will try to build momentum after winning their first meet.

SRJC wrestling has a road matchup at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at Chabot College. The Bear Cubs are coming off an 11th place finish at the West Hills Tournament on Sept. 28.

The Bear Cub Athletic Trust hosts the 25th annual Windsor Golf Tournament at 10 a.m. Oct. 4 at the Windsor Golf Course. Proceeds from the tournament benefit SRJC athletics. 

SRJC football is still looking to get into the win column after an overtime loss last week to College of the Sequoias. They will take on Feather River College at 5 p.m. Oct. 5 at home. 

Bear Cubs soccer has been impressive thus far in 2019. The women stand at 5-3-1, while the men are off to a blazing 8-1-1 start. Both teams play on the road this weekend. The women play at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at Modesto College, while the men play at 4 p.m. the same day at Cosumnes River. 

SRJC volleyball has also started strong. The team boasts an 11-4 record, coming off a win in straight sets over Sacramento City College Oct. 2. They play at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at San Joaquin Delta.
