Santa Rosa Bear Cubs football hosted Fresno City College Saturday, Sept. 7 at Santa Rosa High School for the 2019 season opener. 

SRJC was down 21-3 at the half.

WIth less than one minute remaining in the game, SRJC backup quarterback Will Heckman, playing for injured Jhalen Grayer, dove into the end zone for a final score of 35-17.

Heckman led the Bear Cubs with 46 yards rushing, 13 passing attempts and two touchdowns. He averaged 3.5 yards per carry.
