Who’s Got The Chop’s is a lip sync competition pitting teams against each other in an entertaining evening that raises funds for Sonoma County teens.

Students from Santa Rosa Junior College and other community members will gather Mar. 9 at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts  for the “Who’s Got The Chop’s Lip Sync Battle,” a highly anticipated team lip sync competition held each year to raise funds for Sonoma County youth.

For the last few years, Chop’s Teen Club has put on this event to raise funds for their mission of providing the youth of Sonoma County with a safe space to “engage, connect and discover their true potential.” The club currently serves about 1,000 youths in Sonoma County.

“I cannot believe how this event has grown in the last three years and has been so embraced by our community.  It is an awesome night that is not to be missed,” said Lorez Bailey, Executive Director of Chop’s Teen Club.

A panel of renowned Sonoma County leaders will attend and judge the event including: Senator Mike McGuire; Hank Schreeder, a chief from the Santa Rosa police department; Diann Kitamura, the Santa Rosa city schools superintendent and Leslie McCauley, the SRJC theatre chair.

This event is for anyone 18 and older at the Luther Burbank Center from 5-9:30 p.m. with an after-party at Epicenter Sports and Entertainment Complex from 10 p.m. to midnight. Tickets to the event start at $60, with wine and food tickets available.

Sponsors include La Rosa Restaurant, Sally Tomatoes, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Epicenter Sports and Entertainment Complex, Airport Express, La Tortilla Factory and Signarama. Tickets and more information can be found at www.whosgotthechops.org.

Zane Zinkl, Editor-in-Chief
Zane Zinkl is a sociology major in his third semester at The Oak Leaf, a publication crazy enough to name him editor-in-chief. Nobody is Zane. Zane is nobody. You look down at me only to see pickles for eyes. I am singing the song that gives birth to the universe. My body experiences a sudden lack of electrons. Across a variety of hidden dimensions you are dismayed. John Lennon hands me an apple, but it slips through my fingers. I am reborn as an ocelot. You disapprove.
