Installed over the winter break, students accessing the wireless connection at Lark Hall should see a significant improvement in connectivity

The Santa Rosa Junior College Information Technology department is currently renovating the wireless coverage on the Santa Rosa campus by replacing old wireless routers in Lark Hall last December.

“Lark Hall is old, and we’ve received many requests to improve the wireless capability of that area,” says IT technician Jeff Basham. Students will experience a more consistent connection while in Lark hall and its surrounding buildings, as well as receive smartphone and iPad support.

Last summer the IT department overhauled the router technology in Burbank Auditorium, and plans to broaden wireless access across the campus are already underway

“Currently, Lounibus is a work in progress, and there is a growing number of requests to update iPad support in the Call Child Development Center to monitor infant behavior electronically,” Basham said.

The IT department does not restrict itself to overhauling wireless hardware around campus. In addition to live support, the department addresses any issue regarding software or hardware in the SRJC campus. To contact the IT department, call the help desk at (707) 524-1765 or visit them personally at 1434 Bussman Hall.
