Santa Rosa Junior College men’s soccer won the Big 8 Championship Nov. 15 after Adrian Fontanelli scored late in the second half to put SRJC up over Folsom Lake College.

Rigo Barragan scored an insurance goal five minutes later, bringing the score to its final 3-1. Goalie Cristian Hernandez saved three of four Folsom Lake shots on goal. Hernandez was strong throughout the season during which he saved 77% of shots on goal, en route to the team’s record of 13-1-2.

The Bear Cubs play Saturday, Nov. 22 in the first round of NorCal regional playoffs. The time and location have yet to be announced, though SRJC’s record and Big 8 title should be enough to earn them a home berth.
