In the last year, 72% of Santa Rosa Junior College students have experienced some sort of basic needs insecurity. This week, SRJC will be hosting a series of events on our campus that aim to raise awareness for hunger and homelessness.
For the first day, students were invited to participate in a clothing swap by bringing their gently-used clothes and acquiring new threads in the future Intercultural Center in Pioneer Hall.
Instead of Thanksgiving, the Center for Student Leadership hosted Thanks-taking, featuring thoughtful discussions on the holiday and a multicultural potluck 6-8 p.m. Tuesday on the 1st floor of Bertolini.
CalFresh will host a Club Day with free food, a farmer’s market and a pop-up pantry at 11-2 p.m. today in the Bertolini Quad. Creative SRJC will also be hosting a gratitude collage workshop in the Student Activities Center.
If you want to chat with student Basic Needs Navigators and Success Coaches and get a free burrito, you can attend the Bellyfull Burrito Giveaway Thursday 12-2 p.m. at the Pioneer Hall Patio.
There’s nothing wrong with reaching out for help if you need it, and SRJC Student Life is committed to making your college experience as easy as possible.
