The SRJC women’s and men’s basketball teams will host a doubleheader second round playoff game Saturday at Haehl Pavillion. The No. 5 seeded women will face No.12 seed Chabot College at 5:30 p.m. and the No. 3 seeded men will face No.14 seed Feather River College at 7:30 p.m.
Due to the high seeds awarded to both SRJC teams, each received a first round bye in the CCCAA Northern California Regional Playoffs. The teams will begin play in the second round on Feb. 25 instead of playing in the first round, which was on Feb. 22.
The women’s and men’s post-conference games are set up the same. If a team can win all their games in the four round regional playoffs, the two remaining teams in the north will be invited to the CCCAA State Championship. At the state championship, the two Northern California teams will play the two remaining Southern California teams, creating a four team state championship bracket.
The state championship bracket is comprised of two semi-final games and a championship game. The No.1 north team will play the No.2 south team in a semi-final game, while the No.1 south team will play the No.2 north team in the other semi-final game. The winners will then face each other in the championship game.
The women’s semi-final games are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mar. 9. The women’s championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Mar. 11.
The men’s semi-final games are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mar. 10. The men’s championship game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Mar. 11.
All championship games will be played at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento.
