Death investigation at SRJC; body identified

Santa Rosa Junior College District Police on patrol discovered a man’s body on the front lawn of SRJC on Nov. 1.

Police identified him as Robert Johnny Guzman, 35, of Santa Rosa. An autopsy has been scheduled for this week to determine the cause of death.

According to Sgt. Dave Linscomb, Santa Rosa Police Department police violent crimes investigator, the man had injuries that appeared to be self-inflicted.

SRJC District Police were patrolling the area on Saturday morning and saw the deceased, who was unresponsive, on the lawn near the corner of Mendocino and Elliot avenues. The officers determined the man’s body was cold to the touch and he did not seem to have a pulse.

Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced Guzman dead at 10:20 a.m.
